The rete ovarii is a structure formed from the primary sex cords in females.[1]
It is the counterpart of the rete testis in males.[2]

LPM → Genital tubercle → Labioscrotal swelling → Scrotum or Labia majora
LPM → Genital tubercle → Primordial phallus → Penis or Clitoris
